"When non-audiophiles hear a system that does do those things that sound like real music, they don't appreciate it. It doesn't sound like what they're used to, and they're not impressed. They think the sound of a PA system is what music is supposed to sound like. "
Most folks in my experience don't appreciate what content with truly wide dynamic range really means. The goal is to realistically track low level expression as opposed to matching the output of a jet engine. Or when it comes to top end transparency. Various sources of noise add more *impressive* sizzle to the top - which comes at the expense of resolution.
More is not always better!
