my Onkyo story... is Integra

I don't remember the year. Maybe around 2000? I was at one of the local independent tv/stereo/camera/refridgerator shops here where they had a display with an Onkyo receiver side by side with a Sony STRD level receiver, both with the case enclosure removed. Inside, the Sony looked like cheap junk, comparatively. The Onkyo was much heavier, for one thing. The power transformers were probably the main reason; the Sony's looked anemic. The heat dissipators on the Sony looked like they were cut from beer can aluminum. Onkyo had solid looking heat transfer fins. Anyhow, long story short, I wanted 'not-Sony'. After a year or more of hemming and hawing and shopping, that same store had a good sale on an Integra receiver, Onkyo's upscale line. Real good sale. Maybe even a mis-priced price tag, IDK. So I went for it. It was a nice home theater AV surround I had in the system with the tv, until I upgraded tv's and needed an HDMI-receiver. As much as I liked the Integra (which I still have, in a box), I found a mid-level Denon that works well in the tv system for now. So I wonder what will happen to Integra? I'd hook mine back up to a 2 channel system upstairs, but I still have the Sherwood S7100a i got in 1973 up there, connected to some little RatShack speakers. haha. I guess I'm a pack rat for that stuff.
