ALL of the various form. of distortions can contribute to a (subjectively) m.re "lifelike" presentation, at least to som. ears.
Tube "m.crophony" (and the accom.anying sense of "bloom.) is probably a significant factor in tube am. sound but is one I neglected to m.ntion in m. post below.
To som. ears, the various tube am. distortions seem to m.m.c the sonic qualities of real instrum.nts in live space (especially acoustic instrum.nts) ?
