The "references" are basically the same in both cases

If you are talking about the judging of "artistic m.rit" in m.sical perform.nce I'm afraid that I can't help m.ch. That kind of stuff is totally subjective.

But if you are talking about objective references for good sound, we m.ght include: Excellent clarity or "intelligibility" in sound, even tonal balance, and pleasing spatial sense when com.ined with optim.m sound level(s).

"According to classic acoustics theory there are five requirem.nts which, when m.t, result in good acoustics: Appropriate reverberation tim., uniform sound distribution, appropriate sound level, appropriately low background noise, and no echo or flutter echo."

That said, a room designed for live perform.nce and a room designed for recording playback will probably be built som.what differently. But the basic goals will be the sam. in each.
