My dealer in Canada connected an Audio Note SORO to Magnepan and it remains the best sound I have heard from either the SORO or the Magnepan. 18 watt of Single Ended Pentode. The combination was really nice. Never cared for Magnepan with any other amplifier including flagship Classe, Flagship Bryston, Krell etc. Albeit I didn't play at high levels.
The dealer liked the combination and that's why he set it up. he also had Wyatech labs connected to B&W - the best sound I have heard from B&W with a 20ish watt 211 amplifier - again volume-limited but the quality was much better.
A common theme - Single Ended amplifiers make everything sound better - but volume is limited.
Hence, buy easier-to-drive speakers to take advantage of lower-powered SE amps.
