RE: the high end heart

"costs maybe a cool mil or 2?"

Unsure if they are still in Bowers & Wilkins catalogue but the last price I saw was around 60K (dollars or pounds). They may benefit price wise from being a design from a couple of decades back (1990s). So, by today's ultra high end standards, a lot of speaker for the money.

I cannot remember reading a wholly enthusiastic opinion of them heard in the flesh. However the question was is it the speaker or is it so accurate that amplifier matching is a greater issue than normally (four x 2 channels - which has to be accounted for as an additional cost to the base speaker price )? However this criticism has not been levelled against Dick's later designs for Vivid which use similar principles but seem to get uniform positive appreciation (if you can go with the unusual cabinet shapes).
