RE: ""...a BluesBreaker album..."

Maybe the CD transfer does not sound great and/or UK produced albums were often remastered by the USA licensee sometimes with less acceptable results for 21st century ears. However this is a Decca record and Decca had high standards of recording. I have a UK stereo vinyl second pressing and it sounds wonderful reminding me of how Mayall's Bluesbreakers sounded live at the time (I saw them a few times around 65/66 but never with Clapton).

BTW the live sound of rock/pop bands was very different in those days to today at least here in the UK as drums were not amplified, guitars/keyboards were heard via their stage amps and the only thing fed through a PA (which was small by today's standards) was the vocals. The venues were generally small too. So room sound was a factor but you also got real dynamics.
