Power Strip? Surge Suppressor? Power Conditioner? Power Regenerator?

Sooner or later we will be remodeling our house a bit, nothing major anymore, but it will require some new electrical wiring and a new panel. But that's not for awhile, so....

In the meantime I need more outlets to accommodate my system. What's the best solution of the items referenced in the subject. I don't know from a budget...I know they go from a few bucks at the HD, to many thousands. Somewhere in between I suppose. Oh, and not too large and obtrusive would be nice.

No golden ears here, and the space isn't the greatest, so really just need functionality. Not sure if I'll be plugging in any "ho daddy" power cords, or just the plain jane mfg. supplied ones yet.
