My processor has a zillion surround modes for different halls and it's interesting, but I prefer stereo.
OTOH, I was watching a movie last night and the orchestra comes in with full surround and it was fantastic as it's engineered for multi-channel where you're just getting reinforcement that feels of a real bigger venue.
Jets coming in from behind to drop bombs and such are excellent already. It makes you want to look behind.
I just don't know what Dolby Amos means. Most of the later codecs seemed to be just adding more speakers for height and rear height and who cares. I don't need 10 speakers for surround. Calling it Dolby Atmos with a soundbar and blue tooth surrounds is just 5.1 with a different name.
