RE: Prescription soundstage analysis?

Try to find a copy of Chesky Records Jazz dampler and Audiophile test Vol. 1. It was released quite a few years ago but checking Amazon today confirmed that it is still available.

In its test section tracks 10 and 12 provide a sequence of positioning recordings. if you set up your loudspeakers so that each of the defined recorded spatial positions are achieved then any music disc that you play subsequently will provide correct image positioning as intended by the recording engineer.

I have been using it for years as part of setting up both my own systems and those of others.
