They're on the same circuit.
Checked polarity, both outlets used are good. Disconnected preamp and the monos were quiet as could be. So I figure the problem now is elsewhere.
Disconnected everything from the preamp, connected it, buzz. So now I'm thinking it's the preamp.
I swapped preamps, Still buzz.
So now I'm thinking its the 25 foot balanced ICs connecting the pre to the amp.
I then brought the same pre up to the amp and connected it using a pair of RCA ICs. Still buzz.
So now I'm thinking it isn't the ICs after all.
I tried lifting the ground on the power cable used for the pre and still buzz.
I reconnected the original pre and components.
I generally turn on the pre before the amps. This time I turned the amps on first and I got buzz. Preamp was off.
It seems like the RCA connection on the amps are possibly the reason for the buzz. But I have no idea why this is. Also, if I connect a cheater at the end of the power cable going from the amp to the conditioner it removes the buzz.
I ordered the Ebtech Hum X since lifting the ground on the amps power cord removes the buzz.
This makes zero sense to me.
