RE: Netflix or Amazon video or??

Netflix probably has the most diversity. They've been adding a lot of foreign content and some of the series from Spain, Brazil, Sweden and more are pretty good. The voice actors vary from quite good to quite bad. I hate when you lose the illusion of belief due to a lousy voice actor that doesn't fit the part.

Amazon Prime has some great series as well, but not anywhere as deep. We just signed up for Starz so we could finish the last 3 seasons of Outlander. We'll likely kill it afterward. But if we stumble onto another killer series, we might stay a while longer.

It reminds me of having HBO in the olden days. There were a handful of new movies each month and the rest was the same old retreads.

I've noticed that Amazon and Netflix are vying for material and some deals are flipping from one to another. Netflix's Marvel stuff seems to have gone away for new material since Disney bought the franchise.

We still have Netflix DVD service to get the new better movies. We used to get two a week if we watched that night and returned the next day. They've gotten slower, maybe 6 DVDs a month and I've still got a dozen in the some day queue that they don't seem to have from the 2019 Academy Awards and others which is strange. I wonder if it's the beginning of the end of physical discs.

I don't think I'd subscribe to Amazon if I didn't get it free. Starz and HBO are both great for a limited number of series and perhaps some movies you might not find elsewhere, or not. But I only use them for a trial and stick around a while until I'm done with with Game of Thrones or whatever.

What's funny is that between cell phones, music streaming and video streaming, one spend more than $150 a month and another $100 or more for internet service.

Back in the day, we had an antenna on the roof, an AT&T phone in the kitchen and a record player, for what, $5 a month?
