Positioning, yes...

That is where most loudspeakers end up, in my parents' room. However, with the Concertino, they were actually toed-in a little bit.

Sonus Faber's Franco Serblin used to say that, for many of his native Italy's customers, they only had a small space. And even at that, they had but a small corner of the room. But that also describes many of San Francisco's tiny, cramped quarters. This is exactly why high-end audio here has morphed, to where the smaller, the better. It's also why esoteric headphones are popular here.

In the same position is the Totem Model 1 Signature, which cost $700 more than the SF Concertino + Stand Fixed. Moreover, the M1S also benefitted from high-quality stands. Here, the usual 4-post stands did make the M1S sound more dense and weighty. But that only made the treble roll-off more pronounced.

Here are custom 3-post Billy Bags (sadly, the guy passed away a few years ago) stands, in a nice silver-colored finish. These excellent stands give the M1S a flatter tonal balance. In fact, I use 3-post Billy Bags stands under my current Totem Element Fire.

During the holidays, there was no critical listening. The tree blocked the right channel. Yup, that was the Thiel CS1.5, in just about the same spot, where the other speakers lay. There was about 33" of space, between the wall and the back of the CS1.5. If you brought them out further, the bass improved, but at the expense of a more disjointed mid/treble (because you then sat closer, which causes the Thiel's drivers to become out of time alignment). Lesson learned; for this room, and our listening habits, the Thiels were not a good match.

KJ and I did bring the CS1.5 to other friends' homes. Those who had long rooms got to enjoy the CS1.5 the way it was designed. When everything gels, the perspective is like front row of the balcony. And you are so glad, you do not have to deal with rowdy concert-goers.
