Richmond or Sunset side?

Since I went to Presidio Middle School, we frequently went to the Cliff House-Golden Gate Park portion of Ocean Beach. We thus went to that Safeway, too.

In the late-80s, many of my schoolmates lived in the Sunset. They heard that Chris Isaak would get up early, and go surfing at Ocean Beach. Nope, we never did run into him.

Ocean Beach seemed devoid of macroscopic life, and you'd come across these blobs, which we assumed were jellyfish remnants.

The sand away from the water blew up onto, and often closed, the Great Highway.

The sand under the water is dark-colored. This photo does not reveal just how bitter and painfully cold the water is.

Sigh, Eber Electronics. When we were in high school in the late-80s, we'd take MUNI Metro, and get off at the Castro Street station. We liked their selection of Walkmen and Discmen. However, the Eber staff didn't seem to trust our female friends. The staff didn't think our girls knew the difference between cassette and CD, or what Dolby noise reduction was. The staff would not let us into the back room, where all the good stuff, such as Sony ES, lay.

We had to come back with my dad, and then were let into the back room. My dad knew less about audio than my friends, yet, the staff only talked to my dad. Dumb move. My friends gave up on Eber, and would later go to, for example, SF Stereo Plus, a couple blocks up Market Street.
