It was the Eagles 2007 Farewell tour with the Dixie Chicks, which were not enthused in being a warm up act and Natalie Maines made sure we all knew it. But I digress.
I haven't a clue who this guitar man was, but he played various guitars throughout the show and did most all of the lead parts including most of Hotel California though he did a bit of jamming with Joe Walsh and gave him the spotlight.
The point is that greatest or best is just silly. A handful might have a unique style or inspiration, like a Hendrix or Clapton or many of the blues greats, but all in all, there are thousands of great guitar players.
Often you need to see them in person to truly appreciate their chops. Vince Gill is one that I never thought of being a great guitar player until I saw him live, man, he can pick as well as anyone.
