"One reason for getting a demo on a piece of equipment like this is that there's a 'learning curve' in using it, and it can simplify things if the salesman is already familiar with the product and can demonstrate some of the functions (rather than my having to plow through the owner's manual once I've purchased it). IOW, the demo can be a time saver."
