The problem the USPS may be having with the delivery is that your street is narrow and would necessitate backing up. The USPS is very much against delivery drivers backing up because that's the most frequent cause of accidents involving their trucks. Drivers, whether they're city or rural carriers, face discipline if they're observed backing up by mgt and it is considered more serious if an accident occurs. The USPS is a self insured operation so they're pretty serious about that.
Most parcels are delivered by the carrier assigned to the route that the address is on and the average LLV used isn't equipped with a dolly. While the route carrier is expected to be fit enough to carry packages up to a maximum size and weight, that's only when they can park safely at the address. Carriers aren't required to carry large packages for distances greater than that due to safety concerns.
