RE: System improvements and crappy recordings

I've recently seriously upgraded my system. I've also been going thru
my collection starting at "A" and am now up to "J". Fortunately, I have
not found any really crappy (sonically speaking) discs, and very few that
are musically crappy. But I've got a long ways to go yet. And I haven't
found too many that I don't really like. Has my taste in music been so
superior for decades? Or am I just lucky?

The worst sounding recordings I have encountered so far are European
reissues of classic American jazz from the 20s thru the 40s. But the
music itself is almost always enjoyable.
