I unapologetically and constantly oscillate between what everyone calls "real / good music" - jazz, bossa-nova, long deceased French singers, a little bit of classical/baroque thrown in the mix..., and pop / rock / hip-hop / funk / electro / techno, some of it of the more commercial sort.
In the eyes of serious music lovers, my (almost) unconditional love for Madonna would probably be my most obvious "flaw" :-) she was the very first album I bought on CD ("Erotica") at the age of twelve, and I still remember the awkward moment when I asked my mom to translate the "where life begins" track to french, my -then- only spoken language. I still consider, to this day, that album to be a pop music masterpiece.
To me it's like loving both gastronomy and cheeseburgers - depends on the mood.
