There really is not much energy in the highs for most music.
There is no loss of bass with solid state. It's the reverse with tubes where the impedance rises as around bass resonance the speaker response rises too. This is true at any frequency in the impedance curve. The reverse is also true for tube amps. A dip in impedance produces a dip in response. A few solid state amps do this also, the ones with low damping factor which happens but is rare in solid state amps.
You also get a sense of more bass from poorer control of bass overhang from tube amps and solid state amps with low damping factor.
