I was a college student when Fly Like an Eagle was popular. In those days, the school I attended happened to have a president named Steven Mueller . One year, there was a kerfuffle of sorts about an attempt to align the academic calendars of the school of arts and sciences and of the medical school campus (the latter was on a quarter system, we had two semesters with a January intercession).In the thick of this, there was a satirical take on the subject in the weekly school paper. Memory is hazy on the details (it WAS the 'seventies, man...), but I believe it took the form of a review of an album by The Steve Mueller Band : Time keeps on slippin', slippin' -- into the future.
I also remember a big banner unfurled at one end of the main quad in those days that - embarrassingly - read "Support Calender [ sic ] Reform".
I mean, we weren't Ivy League (although we pretended to be), but... sheesh!
