RE: I've never found dedicated lines to be necessary.

I didn't install a dedicated line because of the difficulty of fishing the wire through the attic which has limited space, so the electrician just pigtailed. But we installed a couple of audiophile grade outlets. It's just a 15 amp circuit but its been ample enough for my equipment.
