RE: Those are pretty simple but...................

I disagree. They are not simple unless you want a basic crossover that doesn't take in account the non-flat drivers used in even our best speakers. Great crossovers often include compensation for driver anomolies and to get similar performance would have to be done even with a passive active crossover. This would need individual tuning for every different speaker design.

By the way I am an absolute adherent of crossovers in front of multiple amps and have written on the subject. I believe the ultimate conventional speaker format includes this type of crossover and other than for commercial reasons wonder why the makers of ultimate speakers such as Magico and Wilson don't produce at least a few such speakers.
