It certainly appears to be a considerable change (or at least an alternative) to your established technical premise. I don't see how you could see it otherwise.
A power amp that will drive (consistently) the vast majority of speaker transducers and speaker systems available today is a requirement for somebody in the power amp business, in my opinion.

Whether you've solved some inherent issue in Class-D operation specifically, remains to be seen.
