I've been known to fumigate records and jackets in home-made chambers in order to kill off any mold. Doesn't always work and I have thrown some away, especially as the can contaminate other LPs.
That said, I cannot confirm if the same mold that attacks paper jackets is the one causing you issues. Hope you get it sorted.
