Also a corollary to why people abandon listening as they age. They become dead to caring about that fashion or sentiment.
When I was in 7th and 8th grade back in 1967-1968, the teacher for our required music class showed us films every week of Leonard Berstein's Concerts for Young People, and it had a lasting impact. As I was thrilled by Cream at that time--or soon after--I could still appreciate and enjoy other forms of music.
Arts education isn't what it used to be in most schools.
