RE: load-shedding arrangement

Most electric utilities have arrangements with their larger use customers, whom if they can do so, shed portions of their load in times of "emergencies". One example is changing thermostat set points up or down depending on the season. The customers are sufficiently reimbursed for their "trouble" so both entities are happy. Fortunately it doesn't have to happen very often.
