I thought it was an OK mini show

There was the good and the bad. A few things I found worthwhile:

-the room with the VPI Prime Signature. They turned the lights out during each song, and stressed that only one seat in the room was good. But wow, in that seat, I got lost in the detail and not a hint of harshness. At $6000 turntable and arm, this seems a great bargain compared to many audio pieces.

-hearing a 45 rpm Lou Reed Walk on the Wild Side in the Gryphon room. It's a great audio moment to hear so much in an old often heard song.

-Prana fidelity nice natural sound and a 1958 Louis and Ella in mono.

-The Vandersteen/Meridian room hearing Tidal tracks with full MQA. Like many, I have problems with some MQA claims, but it's a listenable streaming option, if not a wow moment like the VPI room.

-Perfect8 is a room I dependably enjoy. This time, they had a small room and their much smaller "bargain" speakers (only $18000 rather than $125000). He said he could not get a big room. Too bad, you could hear how good this might have been if not constrained by the room.

There were also very expensive systems sounding pretty average, which is not an all unusual in a hotel show. And various wild claims.

It was an OK way to spend a few hours, and, as a consumer, I've got a VPI table and Tidal streaming bumped up on possible purchase list.
