Using floor (temporary) for hooking up audio components.

I'm ordering an audio rack that wont be avail. for several weeks. The current audio rack i have won't accomodate my new components due to the configuration and size of the shelves.
In the meantime, is there any issue with hooking up the components on my hard tile floor?
I can also use a thin area rug if need be.
There would be sufficient space to separate the components for venting.

Thanks.
