Many of our products have a built-in line conditioner that uses similar technology to our L-5, which is a dedicated passive power conditioner. However, some of our products do not. Everything we make also has an A/C line noise filter on them.
We've been asked many times if that's enough. Do you need an active power conditioner, do you need multiple passive conditioners to make it even better, etc. Unfortunately, the answer is: it depends. Some people have used just the built in conditioner and felt it sounded worse when they added more conditioners to the system; even one as innocuous as the L-5. Others daisy chain 2 L-5s together before they felt it sounded right to them in their homes. It could be an issue of people's preference for a particular sound or perhaps there's cases where there is more noise on a line than others that actually needs that much.
In the end, since we can't really visit the houses and experiment ourselves, my best advice is to see what you like. Ideally a dealer can demo something for you to test out so that you can make the decision for yourself. We certainly wouldn't want you to buy something that you weren't happy with.
