RE: Dealing with crappy acoustics...

Without carpeting as I experienced, room acoustics were needed and the problem was solved. Walls, corners and ceiling to wall corners. IIRC, "live end dead end" is one method of treating the room.
I had really bad slap/clap issues and my room measures 16'x17'x8' which is another doozy to deal with.
I dealt with Acoustics First. I followed their suggestions and never looked back. I also did in a couple of stages auditioning each step of the way. Same process as when doing mods.
