RE: THE classical music afficianado of Audio Asylum...

I love Chris the man, stands for a lot of things I would hold to. But on this topic, he and others bash vinyl or seem to bash vinyl. Dunno why.

Listened last night with my wife to 5 or 6 sides* on the Hana HOMC, world of a difference, makes me want to spend all those savings I have for a much better vinyl system. And go thru my collections one by one (1800 LPs).

I for one want decent or better gear for each genre, but as I posted a couple of days ago, I don't have a lot of dedicated time to listen.

*If one has enough of a library, and convenient player, LP's still afford the best sound in my setup.
Szell Clev Lt Kije, grey label 2 eye (one of the best sounding records he ever did)
Kertesz VPO Mozart Ser 13 STS cream label (not the best pressing, still ok)
Munchinger Stuttgart Albinoni Adagio STS silver (absolutely wonderful)
Persuasive Percussion on Command (pristine, no clicks, from my late uncle's collection)
Grumiaux, Monte Carlo Paganini VC 1, Philips (close miking of violin, wonderful performance, orch a bit distant) original 1976 copy of mine, pristine, very occasional clicks despite no cleaning.
