No disagreement but I do not need a meter on the dash to tell me I am having fun.
That's not at all what I said. Let me repeat: "It does, however, provide a metric which challenges you to more precise delivery."
Ever do any track days? As for me, I take enjoyment with improving my driving (and motorcycle riding) abilities.
But it is not the same thing it does not have the gestalt the same thrill of driving as the manual.
While I can double clutch and synchronize with the best of time, my overall driving experience is not defined by what happens with my right hand. :)
Returning to vinyl, the biggest challenge for me is the lack of new content - which is what really drives my musical enjoyment. What *new* vinyl is available today is digitally sourced! Don't know about you, but I'd always prefer having the master - regardless of the medium. Which is commonplace today with hi-rez digital.
