RE: Just went digital and streaming

You have a lot of good gear, listen to music which is mostly not acoustic or live, studio.

If that is what you are streaming, you're fine.

I recently got a bit into streaming music, using Spotify and Chromecast Audio, mainly to produce music for events at 50+ group at church. I enjoy it a lot, and there is a side benefit in discovering a whole bunch of music of different generations but still for church/worship. I also can instantly go to many things.

I was gifted the Chromecast A by a friend. Hooked it up to my Denon AVR, started to play with my iPhone. He came over and I was playing Geza Anda playing Mozart PC 21, a classic, from DGG large tulip label in very good condition on my Linn LP 12. He was chatting and listening and in less than 1 min, I had the same recording on my phone. We switched to the stream, and he and his wife immediately heard the difference, within seconds. BUT, in the past, no way to do the process at all.

At the same time, as Todd Krieger points out so aptly, the older formats are for music. Ya should have heard Tony Bennett Berlin, CBS red label and the 3 classical used LP's I enjoyed.
