My somewhat limited experience is that while I may not be able to tell the difference on back and forth tests I absolutely can tell the difference after listening to a low res version after about 15 minutes - I don't want to listen anymore. Too loud even of it isn't. Measuring fatigue might be a worthwhile adventure for some one/company.
