1971.
Engine rebuilt and suspension refreshed a couple years before I got it. There were several of us who worked on our cars together, and the local dealer had an excellent parts stock. (I was there enough so they invited me to their Christmas party as a matter of course; I'm sure they made more money with me than with new car purchasers.)
The three Alfas I had were all pretty reliable, but some of that was because I did my own work. An advantage DIYers have is that, because we are in there doing our routine maintenance, we see stuff that's wearing and can take care of it before it makes a big problem. I had three Alfas, and the only sour note was their lousy Italian steel and less-than-stellar bodywork.
I miss it. When I leave city life for a house-and-car again, there might be another Alfa... maybe a Montreal this time... or a Citroën SM. Shoulda kept those Dahlquists - they were pretty great.
