I recently received the new Vanessa Fernandez album Use Me and gave it a quick listen on Saturday. Nothing special, nice but nothing to write home about. I was quite distracted waiting for my wife's biopsy to come back (negative by the way) and really couldn't enjoy the music. I listened to it again today and it is an incredible sounding album. It is filled with great music, wonderfully performed, and excellently recorded. My point is that the mood of the listener has a deep impact on the perception of the reproduction. A bad/negative mood can affect the way we hear what we hear and not for the better. Thoughts?
