Cherry for all the structural parts. The middle shelf is 3/4" Baltic birch ply with a 3/4" cherry Rabbeted front rail. This shelf is quite stiff and relatively light. It is supported on shelf pins which help isolate the shelf somewhat from the rest of the stand. The amps are on amp stands that sit on cork/rubber isolators on the floor but within the frame of the rack. they do not touch the rack proper.
