Car radio question

I just bought a 1962 Willys 4WD wagon which was in great, all be it old, mechanical condition. The interior is shot, and of course the radio is missing. I've been watching ebay for a period AM radio to restore and intall which has brought up some questions.
1) What year did Amercian car makers first offer a radio as an option?
2) When and what car company first offered an AM/FM radio? Cadillac, Lincoln?
3) When and what car company first offered Stereo radio? Had to be mid, late 60's?

I'm going to try to find just a plain push button AM radio and for 1962, would it have been solid state? Or still tube? The interior is so noisy, I'm sure I'll never use the radio, unles I install additional speakers. Since I'm not going to drive it much, seems pointless. Listening to all the drive train noises at different speeds is kind of fun anyway.
Thanks
