great, hope you are kind to FWM

I have come to really like some of his youtoobs.

My story, sitting in church as a new convert for several months each Sunday, I would greet this older woman. It was a Chinese church in Cleveland (the largest one) in the late 80's. She was very gracious, spoke some English, but just bow and take in the service.

One time, Jahja Ling played the piano for the offertory. He was then resident conductor under Christoph von Dohnanyi.

Turns out the lady was his Mom, who pointed and said, "my son." I would later recognize Jahja and Michael Stern climbing up the steps to the control booth at Severance Hall as they monitored the live broadcasts with their scores.

Which brings up my other story of walking for 40 minutes in slush through NY streets to Carnegie Hall, standing in line, having the ticket window shut, while the Royal Phil was playing Beethoven to an empty hall (12 in snow the previous day). Turned in exasperation to my left, and there was Isaac Stern w family members taking publicity photos, about 25 feet away. Heard, "heh, heh" called by my friend who had paid $40 to get two box seats for us.
