A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Symphony..........

Last night, I was attending a symphony concert by the Cleveland Orchestra and Franz Welser Moest at the Segerstrom Arts Center in Costa Mesa, CA (review to be posted later)..... My mom dropped me off at the concert hall box office will call to pick up the tickets while she parked the car.... After getting the tickets, I walked outside to meet my mom walking from the parking garage..... While waiting, I saw a car pull up to the curb with a placard reading "Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra".... The back side passenger door opens, and out comes conductor Myung Whun Chung, just ten feet from where I was standing....... I walked up and shook his hand (I think he was pleasantly surprised that some casual concertgoer recognized him), before he strolled into the hall.

After getting back with my mom, I told her what took place, another concertgoer overheard my story, and quipped- "The second best conductor in the hall will be on the podium...." .......
