Looking for a power conditioner suggestion also.
System is:
deHavilland UV III Pre-amp
Quicksilver Mid Mono amps
Modwright modified Transporter music server
Phono stage is battery powered, so no issue there.
The amps may or may not be ran through a conditioner. Generally every amp I've ever used sounded better straight into the wall.
Right now I'm running this system commando, no conditioner, but feel sound improvements and some electrical protection could be had with the right conditioner.
recently have tried:
Audience aR2p: Didn't hear much difference other than it moved the soundstage forward.
Chang Lightspeed: Killed dynamics
PS Duet: Made the midrange harsh.
In the past when the system was bigger I owned:
Shunyata Hydra 6: Not much effect and expensive for just a box of outlets.
Audience aR6p: Good, but expensive.
PS Power Plant Premier: Really good, but I can't justify spending 1K on a 10 outlet conditioner for this system.
So...
What else could I try? I'd like to keep it under $500.
