PHOTO: A system of yore: My previous recording studio- 8' X 4'. The synthesiser is a Yamaha S90 and the monitor amplifier is the1971 Marantz 2235 receiver that was- my first very first piece of audio equipment. Off on one side is a Kawai KG-5 (6'8") and on the other a Zuckermann single manual Flemish harpsichord (1973 rebuilt by me in 1986).
musetap,
I've moved 5 times in the last 8 years, had bits in storage off and on and was determined to have a good arrangement in this house. I bought the racks when I came here and help give a clean, organised appearance. There's not a lot that I do that's accompanied by a clean, organised appearance,...
The trade-off here is that I haven't found a good way to set up my office system (CDP / Revox B160 tuner > Audio Research LS3 > D130) as my office is a bedroom with too many openings- 5 doors- and the need for an aisle to get to the bathroom. There's no where to put speakers. So, I'm using a $130 Logitech computer system with satellites and subwoofer, and I stream radio or use the computer CD/DVD drive. Considerably less pleasurable than the LS3/D130, but the sound is not painful and the satellite speaker placement works well while using the computer of course.
Cheers,
Bambi B
