Warm or hot transistors conduct electrons better than cold as their internal resistance drops as a linear function of increased temperature.
Similarly, tube gear sounds much richer when properly warmed and allowed to stabilize.
I usually allow 15-20 minutes for my tubes to warm before I do any serious listening. I don't need any empirical experimentation to confirm what my ears and brain tell me.
I'm surprised by this post frankly, as I thought everyone knew and accepted this phenomena to be true.
Cold engines don't run as smoothly as warm ones either.
