A few thoughts

Unless is Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, nobody should pay $50 for the book on 'good audio.'

May I respectfully suggest a few thoughts?

IMO – Great music - played back on any audio system that is delivering the emotional impact from the music - is a huge therapeutic tool. And it keeps on delivering. A wonderful form of medicine that can make a difference in our lives.

There’s a lot of emphasis on this aspect in GBS .

What sets the value of a book? Is it the amount of paper?

Or a painting? Is it the cost of the canvas?

GBS came from over ten thousand hours of late nights and all-nighters voicing systems in hundreds of homes and at various audio shows. What is that experience – if successful - worth?

FWIW – it’s more than just a book. It’s also the Quarter Notes newsletters that continue long after GBS has been purchased. It’s the availability of the author for e-mails, phone calls, even personal visits for voicing (as has been documented elsewhere).

Tip #14 (of 202) would have saved the OP time and maybe lots of money and grief. Fortunately, Charles Hansen noted it and replied.

Although I’ve posted on AA since 2000, I reply to very few posts about how to improve your sound or tips about issues with sound, as it would appear to be self-serving. In this case, your post invited a reply. Thanks to AA for allowing me to do so.

Best regards,

Jim Smith
