"Chartreux are NOT recommended for allergic people, or people who frequently have allergic houseguests"Yes, that could be an issue.
My daughter and some other members of our family would likely have a problem with "Tiki" (for Tequila), but for the most have kept up with their allergy shots. One of my sons-in-law hasn't however, and he can't be in any "cat" house for more than 5 minutes without suffering acutely. He's also allergic to other things, but won't consider getting the treatment. To me the treatment is a no brainer as it eliminates all allergies and lasts 5 - 10 years.
We have a pet rabbit with a double coat that occasionally sheds the same light fluff, and extra vacuuming is necessary during those times to keep the place clean. If you have central heating, an electronic air cleaner or filter is incredibly effective.
So, if you can live with the "dust bunny" issue (during shedding), then the Chartreux is an extremely charming pet.
"They have a strong sense of proper behavior and strive to be 'good citizens.'" is strongly true.
