CD sales are shifting to internet retailers

...and this is not so bad at all. I got Rick's CD at CDBaby.com. They are very good, with samples of each song on the album and reasonable prices. Also, I ordered Rick's CD on a Friday and got it the following Monday, even though it went through the U.S. Mail. That's amazing. They also gave feedback as to when it had shipped and so forth. They never kept me in the dark. Great vendor - if you get Rick's CD (which is superb BTW), get it from them.

Another interesting vendor that I recently found out about, but have not ordered from yet is "Wounded Bird Records" at http://www.woundedbird.com/ They seem to specialize in some obscure rock, blues and jazz albums that wouldn't otherwise be available. I have been looking for Paul Butterfield's Live album for years, and they've got it. They've got Romeo Void, and other hard-to-find artists and albums too. If you're a boomer like me, and you still have some albums from your college years that you haven't found on CD yet, you may find them there. Their prices are good too. Check them out.

I view this as positive change. If the internet can provide a way for artists to become known without having to be involved with the big money machine, then that's a good thing. There's services like Pandora, and I've heard that artists can sign up and have their works presented to listeners as part of their service that finds music that's similar to other music that they say they like. Rick, have you tried this yet?
