Re: Peter Aczel's biggest "lies" ...

"Yes, correct, and some folks like that added "mellow" sounding "distortion" ... one man's garbage is another man's dinner ... but this still does not excuse Mr. Aczel's comments."

I would not compare the use of tubes to generate distortion in a musical instrument (ie. an electric guitar) where it is used in the pursuit of art, with distortion in an audio system. Regrdless of what people like, it is still a distortion of the original signal. I want the musicians to make music, and the system to reproduce it, not add to it.

"Yes, he did [say said vinyl was sonically indistinguishable from CD]. "

Please show me where. I think you are wrong about this.

I'll let the quantum mechanics part go away. You seem to be quite sure of yourself so I'll assume you don't want to discuss physics with an amateur like me.

"Crank up the feedback and you crank up distrotion of the "non-tube" varity."

Judicious feedback is not audible according to scientific tests. And it serves to lower distortion. Distortion is audible. There's plenty of ss amps where feedback is not a problem.

A question before I leave you:

If audiophiles only came in two molds: Aczel and Harry Pearson, which one would you be?
