Your experience reminds me of people who buy a Bose system from Best Buy and think they're getting top of the line audio gear. The refrigerator you purchased may be top of the line at the big box retailer you shopped at, but it's nowhere near top of the line. If you want a higher end refrigerator, look at Viking, Sub-Zero, Northland, Thermador, etc. The basic non-custom, non-built in models are generally going to run something like $5-7k. Then look into granite countertops and new cabinets. I know several people who spent $30-50k to redo relatively small kitchens without even getting that fancy. It would be easy to spend over $100k on a high end custom kitchen in an average size home.

- Yeah, maybe $30-50k isn't average, but it depends on where you live - Dave Kingsland 18:01:46 07/8/06 (0)
