There are certain cases when it is correct to question their marketing;
If I helped them get started with advice including marketing and R&D of their early products, and they have now changed the rules to my detriment,
If they are selling directly and to dealers then they may want all of those sales for themselves. When this is the case I have never had a manufacturer to refer a customer to me to audition their products.
If they are duplicitous in their rules by forbidding some, but not all dealers to advertise on Audiogon. As disgusting as this sounds, it is currently in practice by a few manufacturers. Of course it kills sales by the non-privileged dealers.
